Celebrate the Occasion Design Team: Challenge #3

Hey, everyone!  It's Tuesday again, so it's time for another challenge at Celebrate the Occasion.  This week's challenge is to make a project for any occasion, as long as you use the colors green, white, and one optional color.  I had a lot of fun with this project...here it is:

I chose to make a birthday card because it seems I never have enough of those.  This card is 5.75" square.  The iguana is from the Lettering Delights Love Pets SVG Set (which I cut using Make-the-Cut), and the hat is from the Birthday Bash Cartridge.  I printed the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and embossed the top portion with my Cuttlebug and the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder.  I added a strip of patterned paper, some stitching lines, some ribbon, and some brads, and that was it!  I hope you like my card!

Now, head on over to Celebrate the Occasion to check out the other Design Team Members' projects and to enter the challenge yourself!  Each week's winner is entered into a drawing to win an awesome monthly prize!  This month's prize is a Cricut Cartridge: Rock Princess.  I hope you join in the fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  If you like what you see, I'd love it if you'd leave a comment and become a follower.  :o)

Egg Waterfall Card

The other day, I was browsing around on the SVG Cuts Blog when I noticed that the cutest set of waterfall cards were offered as a special FREE GIFTwhen you spend $9.98 or more in the SVG Cuts store.  So, I couldn't resist, and it didn't take me long to find something else I wanted so I could get this little set for free.  Well, ever since I got this little set, I've been dying to make one of the cards!  I chose to make this cute little Egg Waterfall Card:

This card was so SUPER EASY to make!  All I did was import the SVGs into Make-the-Cut, arrange them on a 12 x 24" mat (just so I could fit everything in one cut--you could do it on a 12 x 12" mat), and cut them out.  Arranging them was even a breeze because they are already broken down by color.  Then, I just had to pick the papers I wanted (all of the patterned papers are from DCWV's Nana's Kids Stack), and cut all of the pieces out.  Assembling it was also easy because there's a great video on the site that shows exactly how to put one of these cards together (this is the 1st waterfall card I've ever made).

I'm entering this card in these challenges:

Get in Shape: Jitterbuggin' Challenge
Any Type of Card: Crazy for Cricut
Spring Card: Paper Cutz Challenge
Anything Goes: Party Time Tuesdays

I hope you like my card, because I sure do!  ;o)  Thanks so much for stopping by!  By the way...I'd love it if you'd leave a comment and become a follower if you like what you see on my little blog.  :o)

Guitar Club Binder

My older daughter is just SUPER excited because she just joined the Guitar Club at her school.  She's going to be learning all about the strings and some simple chords and simple songs.  Then, in May, she'll get to give a little concert.  Well, ever since we got the application to join the club, it's all she's been talking about.  So, we decided to make a cover for the binder she'll need for the club meetings.  Here it is:

She wanted it to look a little like the You Rock Card I made a little while ago, so I used the same guitar cut from the Hannah Montana cartridge and cut a background circle from Birthday Bash.  The lettering and the music notes also came from Hannah Montana.  I just wanted to share our little project with you...now I'm off to make my first waterfall card!  :o)  Thanks for stopping by today!

Ooo-La-La Award!

I'm so excited that my Girly Paisley Card made the Top 10 over at My Sheri Crafts for her last challenge.  I'm so excited!

I haven't posted any projects for a few days, but I have some good ones coming up!  I'll be working on a project with my daughter today, and I have a waterfall card that I really want to try out, so I'll hopefully have something to post soon.  Anyway...thanks for stopping by!  :o)

Well, I decided to take the plunge and list some of the cards I create on Etsy.  This is really kind-of scary for me, but I'm also really excited.  I hope this ends up being worthwhile.  I'll be in the process of listing items this weekend, so if you'd like to see what I'm selling, check out my sidebar.  Also, you can visit my little Etsy shop here.

My First Blog Hops!!!

I wanted to share with everyone that I get to participate in two blog hops that are coming up in March!  Yippee!

The first is Operation Write Home's Bunny Hop on March 5th.  If you aren't familiar with Operation Write Home, it's a great organization that allows talented crafters to create cards for deployed service men and women to use to write home to their families and friends.  You should definitely go check out their site.  Also, you can join in the fun and join the Bunny Hop, too!  I've already completed my project for this one, and I just CAN'T WAIT to share it with you! {{giggle}}

Giselle at Cross My Heart Papercrafts and Nadia at Nadia's Beautiful Mess were kind enough to open their Lucky Charm Blog Hop to the first bloggers who e-mailed them wanting a spot.  So, luckily (hehe), I saw the invitation soon enough to make the cut!  YAY!!  I can't wait!

I hope you'll come back on March 5 and March 17 to check out what I create for these hops.  Thanks for stopping by today!  :o)

Also, I want to thank Alina from Addicted to Scrapbooking and Carrie from Paper, Glitter, Stamps for passing along the Stylish Blogger Award to me.  They both have some beautiful projects on their blogs, so you should go check them out!  :o)  These are the 5th and 6th ones I've gotten, and I just feel so honored and excited every time someone chooses to pass it along to me.  :o)  If you'd like to see the people I passed the award on to, click here.  Thank you sooooo much, Alina and Carrie!

YAY! Fantabulous Cricut Top 5!!!

Okay, just one more post...I just found out that my Whatever theWeather card made the Design Team Top 5 for last week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge.  I'm so excited!  If you'd like to read about my card, click here.

IPod Card

Well, I have another one for you (I told you I had fun working on challenges today).  Here's another cute little card I made to enter in a few challenges:

I used this sketch, from Card Positioning Systems, to help me design this card:

This in an A2 card that I laid out on my Gypsy to get the sketch just right.  The papers are all digital ones that I printed off to use on this card...I couldn't find any I liked in my stash.  The iPod is from Rock Princess, and the sentiment is from a Hero Arts stamp set.  I added lots of stitching lines and little doodles, and my card was finished!

I'm entering this card in these challenges:

Sketch #206: Card Positioning Systems
Technology: Paper Playtime
Sew Much Fun: Paper Variety

I hope you like my fun little card!  Thanks so much for visiting.  If you like what you see, I'd love it if you'd leave a comment (I do LOVE them) and become a follower.  :o)

Girly Paisley Card

I've had so much fun working on challenges today!  Here's a little card I made with a few challenges in mind:

This is an 5" x 7" size card.  I got all 3 of these cuts from Paisley, and I just sized them on my Gypsy so they would fit inside (or almost inside) 2 inch squares.  I used a Fiskars border punch and my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  Then, I added lots of ink and highlights, and my card was all done.  I'm entering this card into these challeges:

All About Girls: My Sheri Crafts
Emboss It!:  Fantabulous Cricut

Well, I hope you like my little card!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  :o)

Celebrate the Occasion Design Team!!!

Guess what!!!  I'm so excited to tell you that I have the wonderful opportunity to serve on the Celebrate the Occasion Design Team!  YAY!  I can't tell you how excited I am about this, and I look forward to sharing lots of great projects with you during my time on the team.

Here's my card for this week's challenge...Anything Goes Birthday:

I have a 9 year-old daughter, so I just LOVE the Rock Princess cartridge!  It's just perfect for all of the birthday parties she goes to, and I have so much fun finding new ways to make birthday cards using this cart.

For this card, I used a card base and star border from Birthday Bash.  BB is really my go-to cart for card bases...there are just so many great ones to choose from.  I ran the star border through my Cuttlebug using the Candycane Stripe embossing folder.  The cute guitar girl is from Rock Princess, and the sentiment is computer generated.  I added some star brads and stitching lines, and my ROCKIN' card was all done.  I hope you like it!

I hope you'll check out Celebrate the Occasion to meet the other talented designers on the new team.  I'm so excited to serve with such talented crafters!  :o)  Then, every Tuesday, visit Celebrate the Occasion to check out (and hopefully enter) the weekly challenge.  I hope to see you there!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

To My Favorite Chick

You know that feeling when you make a card that you just love, that you keep going back to look at, that just makes you smile?  Have you ever had that feeling, or is it just my and my weirdness?  Anyway, I had that feeling today when I finished this cute little card:

I don't know what it is about it, but I just LOVE this little card!!!  I think I'm going to send it to my mom (she collects chickens).   I designed it on my Gypsy so I could get everything just the size I wanted.  The card  measures 5.5" x 5.5".  I got the sun and hills and the hen from Country Life, and I got the three little chicks from Simply Charmed.  I added a stamp from My Pink Stamper's Tweety-Hoo Puns, some chalk, and some stitching/highlighting lines, and it was all done!  I'm really happy with how it turned out.  I hope you like it, too.

I'm entering this little card in the Tacky Tuesday's Challenge that is going on right now (we're supposed to use the chick from Simply Charmed).

Thanks so much for stopping by!  If you like what you see on my little blog, I'd love it if you'd become a follower.  Oh, and I love reading comments...they make me smile!  :o)  Have a wonderful day!!!

Love You a Latte

There are so many great challenges going on right now!  Cricut Cardz Challenge wants us to use an image of a cup on a card, and Scrapbookaholic by Abby is having a SEI Challenge #3 in which we are supposed to use the color pink on a project.  So, here's what I came up with to enter into both of these challenges:

This is an A2 size card.  I got the cup and the sentiment from the Lettering Delights Sweet Nothings SVG set.  I drew the oval in Make-the-Cut, added a ribbon and some gems, and I was all done.  I hope you like my little card.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Liebster Blog Award

I'm so excited and honored today that I get to receive another blog award!  Ellen over at Card Monkey is passing the Liebster Love Blog Award to me!  :o)

The Liebster Love Blog Award is designed to recognize bloggers who have fewer than 300 followers but whose work deserves gigantic praise.  To accept the award, I am to spread the love by recognizing up to five blogs whose work I follow and admire -- sort of a chain letter of love!  I follow a bajillion blogs, and there are so many creative bloggers out there, that it was really difficult to choose just 5.  Nevertheless, I'm excited to pass this honor on to the following talented bloggers:

I hope you'll visit these talented, creative ladies to check out all of the wonderful projects on their blogs.  Thank you, Ellen, so much for recognizing me with this award!  :o)

Whatever the Weather...

I am just so excited to show you the card I made today!  It took a lot of work, but I finished it, and I just LOVE it!  Here it is:

Isn't it just so fun???  I used a file from the Lettering Delights Sweet Nothings SVG set for the card base...it's the last file in the set.  Then, I used the Lettering Delights Weather Girl and Weather Boy SVG sets to cut the weather icons and the little girl and boy.  I used Make-the-Cut to cut out all of the files. The sentiment is computer generated, and  I added some embossing with my Cuttlebug and the Swiss Dots and Polka Dots embossing folders.  Then, I just added a ribbon, and it was all done!  It took a while to put it all together, but I think it was worth it!  Imagine all of the possibilities you have with this card base...so cute and fun!

I'm entering this card in three challenges:  Crafting with Cristina's Interactive Card Challenge, Cooking with Cricut's Emboss It Challenge and Fantbulous Cricut's Weather Forecast Challenge.  I hope you enjoyed my card...thanks so much for stopping by!  :o)

You Rock Card

Well, I finally got the chance to make another card today. I go a few days without creating anything, and it just feels like FOREVER!!! I think I was getting a little "V-Day"ed out...too much pink, red, and heart-shaped stuff!  But I finally got some inspiration...and I have a lot of inspirations for this card.  First of all, I've been saving bunches of card sketches from The Sweetest Thing, and I've been dying to try one out.  This is the one that inspired me today:

Also, Card Creations and More by C is having a challenge in which we are supposed to use black, white, and one other color, and My Pink Stamper is challenging us to participate in her blog hop by using black and other colors in a project. Finally, I REALLY need some Thank You cards!!!  So, here's what I came up with:

Sorry, this isn't the best pic...it's a really gloomy day today.  It may be hard to tell by the lighting, but I did use only black, white, and teal.  I designed this on my Gypsy with the sketch above in mind.  The guitar came from the Hannah Montana cart, and the circles and rectangle came from Birthday Bash.  The sentiment is computer generated.  I got to use my new Cuttlebug on this card, too.  I used the Seeing Spots and Stars embossing folders.  I added a few stitching marks, and I was all done.  I hope you like this simple little card!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Your Story Package Prize Giveaway

Monster Be Mine

I have yet another Valentine's Day Card for you today.  Here it is:

Again, I couldn't decide between flash and no flash...I wish I could find a happy medium.  Anyway...I got all of the cuts for this card from Lettering Delights' Monster Love SVG Set.  I really love this set because the little monsters are just so cute!  I cut everything using Make-the-Cut software.  I also got to use my Cuttlebug for the very first time today.  I just got the Cuttlebug V2 a few weeks ago, but it only came with one embossing folder that I haven't had much use for yet.  Since I don't have a craft store anywhere around me, I couldn't just go out and buy some.  Thankfully, though, I just got a whole bunch of folders in the mail the other day, and I've been itching to use one!  I chose Spots & Dots to jazz up the front of this card.  Then I added a pretty bow, and my little card was all done.

I'm entering this in MTC and Me's challenge in which we were suposed to use the Monster Love Freebies Bundle from Lettering Delights.  I'm also entering this in Die Cuttin' Diva's Love is in the Air Challenge and More Than Favors' Wacky Wednesday #25-Valentine's Day Challenge

Well, I hope you like my card.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Start Your Engines Layout

I'm so excited that Amanda's Crafts and More is having biweekly scrapbooking challenge.  I love this, because I really need to be motivated to work on some scrapbook pages, and challenges really motivate me.  :o)  The first challenge is an "anything goes" challenge, so I was free to work on the next layout in my Magic Kingdom album.  Here's the layout:

All of the cuts on this layout came from the Cars cartridge.  The car is actually blue in the movie, but I made it red to match the car my daughter was driving.  I also replaced the hood decoration with racing stripes.  I just love these pics, especially the one at the top left (isn't her expression the cutest???), and I'm so happy I finally got them in the scrapbook.  I also love that the pic of the back of her head shows that her sunglasses say "Follow Your Dreams."  So apropriate for her little adventure...she had been wanting to drive on her own for so long!  Well, I hope you like this layout.  Thanks so much for visiting!

Miss You Berry Much

Hey, you!  Did you know I'm having a 100 follower giveaway?  Read all the juicy details here.  :o)

I have another card for you.  I decided to make a "Miss You" type card today.  There are just so many people, both family and friends, that I miss like crazy.  Being part of a military family does that to you, especially when you live an ocean away from everyone.  So, I made this card to send to my mom and dad.  I also made the card for a couple of challenges.  Scrappy Moms Stamps is having a Simply Charmed Challenge, and My Pink Stamper wants us to make something that makes us happy (at least that was one of the choices).  It definitely makes me happy to think of the smile on my mom's face when she gets this little card.

This card is a 5.75" square.  The bowl of strawberries is from Simply Charmed, and the circle is from Birthday Bash.  I added some stitching lines, buttons, ribbon, and a computer generated sentiment, and viola!!!  All done!  I hope you like it...I can't wait to send it to my parents!  :o)

Luv Bug Card

Welcome!  Did you hear that I'm having a 100 follower giveaway?  To read all of the details, click here.

Today I have another card for you that I made with a couple of challenges in mind.  Paper Playtime is having a "use a cupid or a heart" challenge, and Creative Cutter Room is having a challenge called Love Bugs.  So, I made this card to enter in both challenges:

This is an A2 size card.  I got this little luv bug from the Birthday Bash and added some hearts from Create a Critter.  The paper is all from my scrap stash, and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Buggy-Punnies.  I added some ink (Tim Holtz Distress Ink...Barn Door), a couple of ribbons, some brads, and some buttons, and this simple little card was all done!  I hope you like it...thanks so much for stopping by!

Valentine's Day Treat Bags

Hey, have you heard that I'm having a 100 follower giveaway???  Check out the details here.

Whew!  My daughters and I have have been working most of the afternoon to get together their Valentine treat bags for school.  I cut, doodled, sorted candy, and stapled, and they glued everything and filled the bags.  We had a lot of fun making them, and I think they turned out to be really cute!  Here they are:

My fourth grader is in a very anti-pink stage right now, so pink hearts were out of the question.  We settled, instead, on two shades of blue.  I did sneak in some pink cheeks, though, to tie the bags in to the toppers a little more.  Thankfully, there were no protests from my little pre-teen!  ;o)

I got the winged heart from Lettering Delights' Cupid SVG Set, and I cut it out using Make-the-Cut and my Cricut.  It looked awfully plain, so I added a little face...I think it looks much cuter now!  I created the sentiment in a table in Microsoft Word, and I was able to print six to a page of 8.5 x 11" cardstock.

This is Madison's teacher's bag.  It just has extra candy, some truffles, and LOTS of red pens.  Believe me, he NEEDS red pens...he's always misplacing them, it seems.  :o)  I think there are 40 in there...he should get a kick out of that (and maybe be able to keep up with them for a while).

My first grader is much more pink-friendly, so we decided to go with a heart from Simply Charmed.

I decided to hide the faces on the hearts and draw them in later to save a little paper (and gluing).  Also, the hearts are pretty small, so the faces are just TINY.   I used the same table in Microsoft Word to create the sentiment; I just changed the alignment and name.

Taylor's teacher also got extra candy and truffles, but I made her a little Post-It note cover that you can read about here.

Well, I hope you enjoyed these treat bags.  I decided to enter these into a couple of challenges.  Crafting with Christina is challenging us to create a Valentine's themed project, as long as it is not a card, and Crazy About Cricut is having a Thankful Thursday Challenge in which we are to show our classroom Valentine's treats.  I thought these treat bags would be perfect for both challenges.  I hope you all have an awesome Super Bowl Sunday!!!  Thanks so much for visiting!

Oh, and don't forget to check out the details of my giveaway here.
