Surf's Up ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge June 1

Wow!  Happy June 1, everyone, and TGIF!  This year is just flying by!  I can't believe it's almost half-way gone!  Well, it's time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge, and this challenge's theme is "I Love Summer".  Well, when I think of summer, I think of the beach, so I decided to make a card with a beachy-type theme.  Here it is:

This card was really simple to make with my Silhouette Studio and my Cameo.  I got the entire front of the card (sentiment, surf boards, and all) from this Echo Park Surf's Up Dude file from the Silhouette Online Store (SOS).  I filled the background of the file with this Skyline Park Printable Pattern by American Crafts  from the SOS and used the print and cut feature in Silhouette Studio to cut it out.  Then, I created an offset layer (shadow layer) of this background shape ,  mirrored it, and welded the two together to form the card base. Then, I just added some ink and stippled a little brown ink on the background kraft layer (to make it look more like sand), and my card was all finished.  I hope you like it!

Now, it's your turn!  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team members created.  Then, create your own "I Love Summer" themed project (using a die cut), and link it up at SOUS. I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  My oldest daughter's birthday party is this weekend, so I'll be sharing some decorations I made for her with you soon!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Ohh La La!

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! Today is my Design Team day over at Pink by Design, and I want to share a special card with you.  My 13th anniversary was last Tuesday, and I made a simple little card for my hubby.  Here it is:

I've wanted to make a card for my hubby using these two stamp sets for a long time.  I stamped the lingerie from Pink by Design's Save the Tatas Stamp Set onto pretty patterned paper and  trimmed it with my little scissors and craft knife.  Then, I inked the edges of another piece of patterned paper (4" x 5.15"), stamped my sentiment from Pink by Design's Flirty Girl Stamp Set, and adhered it to an A2 sized card base (4.15" x 5.5").  I used foam tape to adhere the lingerie to the center of the card, and the front was all finished.  Super easy!

For the inside of the card, I simply stamped a sentiment from the PBD Dazzle Stamp Set and another from the PBD Scripted Year Stamp Set.  Then, I added a few kiss marks in a coordinating pink (I got those from the Flirty Girl Stamp Set).

I was curious to see my hubby's reaction when he got this card, and I think he liked it.  I hope you like it, too!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday!

Mother's Day Sushi--Cameo Creations Challenge

Happy Thursday!  I hope you are counting down the minutes to a fun-filled holiday weekend...I know I am!!  Today, I have another Cameo Creations project to share with you.  The theme of this challenge is to create a scrapbooking layout...anything goes, as long as you use a Silhouette electronic cutter.  Here's the layout I came up with (if you click on the photos, you will see a larger view):

I LOVE sushi, so, of course, I chose to have sushi for our Mother's Day dinner this year.  I've been dying to scrapbook one of our sushi experiences.  This is a 12 x 12 inch layout.  I created the circle in the background by using this 12 x 12 background shape (the spiky one in the set) from the Silhouette Online Store (SOS).  I filled it with a digital paper from Lettering Delights' Ninja Kicks Paper Pack, then I printed and cut it with my Cameo.  I made it as large as I could while still fitting it on an 8.5 x 11" piece of card stock (since that's the largest my current printer will accommodate).   I then drew a circle in Silhouette Studio that was a bit bigger than the spiky circle and cut it from black paper.

I also cut this open squares border (SOS) from black paper to add to the red strip of card stock that stretches along the bottom of my layout.  I had to resize it a bit so it would be close to 12" wide, but I sort-of like the way the squares morphed into rectangles.

I used fonts on my computer to create the title in Silhouette Studio.  I love that I can cut whatever font I want with my Cameo.  It makes creating scrapbook layouts that much easier!

Of course, I had to use the stamp sets I designed for Pink by Design: Let's Do Sushi and Got Sushi?.  One of the reasons I created them was so I could use them to document some of our fun sushi times.  My favorite one here is my hubby's photo...doesn't he look like he's delivering the perfect pick-up line?  LOL!

I got these cute little sushi images from the Lettering Delights Bento Box Graphic Set.  I used Silhouette Studio's print and cut feature to cut these little guys out.  So cute!

Well, I hope you'll head on over to Cameo Creations to see what the other Design Team members created. Then, we'd love it if you'd link up your own Silhouette-created layout!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!  Plus, you could be chosen to win a $20 gift certificate to SVG Cuts!  You have two weeks to enter. :)

Have a great weekend, everyone!!!

If Life Gives You Limes... SOUS Die Cut Challenge May 18

TGIF, everyone!  It's time for another Die Cut Challenge over at Stuck on U Sketches.  This week's theme is fruit.  Here's what I came up with:

I designed this 5.75" square card around this fun sentiment from Pink by Design's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Stamp Set.  I got the fun margarita pitcher and margarita glass from the Silhouette Online Store, and I found the limes in the My Scrap Chick Kawaii Fruitstand Cutting Files set.  I cut all of the files using Silhouette Studio and my Silhouette Cameo.  I chose some fun, tropical-looking paper from Basic Grey's Lauderdale Paper Pad, added some ink and doodles, and my card was all done!

Now it's your turn!  Head on over to SOUS to see what the other Design Team members created, then make your own fruit-themed project that includes a die cut of some kind.  I can't wait to see what you create!!!  Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Teacher Thank Yous

Happy Monday, everyone!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday!  Today is my Design Team Day over at Pink by Design, so I wanted to share some teacher thank you cards I made for my daughters' teachers last week.  Well, I made two for my daughters' teachers (the other two are just extras I made because I couldn't choose among the cute graphics and stamps!).  Here are my cards:

These cards all measure 5.5" square. I got all of the sweet sentiments and hearts for these cards from the Pink by Design Our Teachers Stamp Set. All of the cute graphics came from the Lettering Delights Bookworms Graphics Set.  You can actually get these graphics (and a whole lot more) for just 50 cents right now!  There are also a bunch of bundles on sale.  You should definitely go check it out...there are tons you could use with the Print and Cut feature on the Silhouette.

Anyway, here are some close ups of the cards:

I patterned these cards around a sketch I found a long while ago here. I was actually able to open the image of the sketch in Silhouette Studio so I could find cut files that would fit the sketch and size them perfectly.  I drew the rectangle shapes with the rectangle and rounded rectangle tools, and I got the scalloped square and the star in the Silhouette Online Store.  I embossed the green pieces with my Cuttlebug Polka Dots embossing folder, and the stars are embossed with one of the embossing folders from the Cuttlebug Simply Charmed set.  Then, I added some ink and doodles, and my teacher thank yous were all done! :)

I'm also entering these guys in the Spectacular Spectacles Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don't forget to stop by Pink by Design every day for some awesome design team inspiration!

Later, Alligator

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!  I hope you're having a marvelous one!  Today, I just wanted to share a card I made for some friends of mine.  One of the hard things about being a military family is the fact that we move around so much.  We make wonderful friends at each station, but we always have to leave those friends or say goodbye as they move on.  Well, this week, I had to say goodbye to a couple of wonderful friends.  I'm so sad to see them go...and I hope we will meet up again someday soon.  So, instead of making a "Goodbye" card, I decided to give them a see you later card.  Here it is:

I got this cute alligator from the Lettering Delights Love Bites Cut Its set, and I embossed him with my Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder.  The fun sentiment came from Pink by Design's Crikey Stamp Set.

Here's the inside of the card.  This sentiment also came from the Crikey Stamp Set.  I added some ink, ribbons, and buttons, and my little card was all done.  I hope you like it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!  Come back tomorrow for another project. :)

Owl Pillow Box: Cameo Creations Color Challenge

Hey, everyone!  Today is a great day for another Cameo Creations Challenge.  This week's challenge is to use your Silhouette machine (any model) to create a project using the colors GREEN, CORAL, and YELLOW.  I decided to make a little gift box.  Here it is:

I got this cute 3D Owl Pillow Box file from the Silhouette Online Store.  Isn't she cute?  I embossed her feathers using my Cuttlebug Plum Blossom embossing folder.  The sentiment came from Pink by Design's You're a Hoot  Stamp Set.   I thought this box would be a great little thank you gift for someone.  I inked up all of the pieces, and she was all done.  Easy peasy...and soooo cute!  Here's another view so you can see her shape a little better. :)

Okay, now it's your turn!  Head on over to Cameo Creations to see what the other Design Team members created, then create your own GREEN, CORAL, and YELLOW project using your Silhouette machine.  Then, link it up at Cameo Creations...you never know, you could win 7 free digital stamps from Bugaboo Digi Stamps (a $21 value)!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'll have some other projects to share with you real soon! :)

Supermom Sign ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge May 4

It's FRIDAY!!!!  Yay!  That means it's time for another Stuck On U Sketches Die Cut Challenge.  This week's theme is In Celebration of Mothers.  I decided to make a fun sign for that mom who does EVERYTHING.  Here it is:

I got this fun Supermom Character and Supermom Phrase from the Silhouette Online Store, and I cut them out using my Silhouette Cameo.  Aren't they fun???  The fun paper is actually digital scrapbook paper from the Echo Park Hybrids Splash Paper Pack.  You can buy tons of these packs at Jessica Sprague.com.  Since I bought this digital pack, I have all of the patterned papers stored on my computer, and I can print them out whenever I need them...in whatever size I need.  I printed a full 8.5 x 11" page for this sign and trimmed it a bit to be 7 x 10.  I can also import the papers into Silhouette Studio and fill cut shapes with the patterns, if I want.  So many possibilities...I just thought I'd share in case you didn't know how awesome digital papers can be.  I was SUPER PUMPED when I realized you could buy Echo Park Paper in digital form.  Now I think I may need to look into getting a wide format printer (but that's another story).  Okay...on with the rest of my project.

I decided not to cut the face pieces so I could use this adorable face from the my Peachy Keen Laughy Taffy Face Assortment.  I think it fits perfectly.  I masked off the mouth with some tape after inking up the stamp with black ink so I could go back and stamp it with red ink.  I just had to mask off the rest of the stamp the second time.  Then, I colored in her eyes and teeth with gel pens.  I love her sparkly eyes. :)

The sentiment here came from the Pink by Design Enjoy the Journey Stamp Set.  I love the little touch it adds to the sign.  I added some star brads, some doodling, and some ribbon, and my sign was all ready for a supermom to enjoy.

Okay, now it's your turn!  Head on over to Stuck On U Sketches to see all of the AWESOME design team projects.  Then, link up your own project that celebrates mothers and uses a die cut.  You have two weeks to link up. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a WONDERFUL weekend!!!
